It wasn’t enough for me to interpret my Bonbon as an eye, I needed to push the design even more.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMost contemporary eye designs are a set of concentric circles, but as many of you know, that was just too simple for me. As a nod to the elegance and femininity of Cleopatra, I include eyelashes in the manner of the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEye of Horus\u003c\/span\u003e, so prevalent and important in Egyptian iconography.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou might think I am completely irreverent for turning each of the stones upside down and reverse-setting them for this design, but in the process, I was forced to create a new geometry to support the unfamiliar reflections of these typically hidden facets, which I believe led me to a complete design that feels perfectly classical.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI must confess, I am in love with my Bonbon design. I hope you have a chance to eat some soon too. It’s always worth it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMy Favorite Parts of this Design\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA miniature sculpture, this design is spectacular.  Its tactile, its fun, it can be worn to a gala or to the beach, and every time you wear it, you will get compliments.  You'll find yourself touching it, fiddling, enjoying it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven though the inspiration for this design comes directly from nature, I tried to abstract the design to make it iconic.  I think there is a tremendous amount of beauty that can be captured with just gold and stones, and even amazing, they just aren’t for me.  To me, a discrete but exquisite piece makes a better impression than a design that screams at you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSecond, I needed a way to attach the pins to my blazers and suits without damaging them.  I love my clothing too much, and I plan on wearing these jackets for the rest of my life.   So, I created a long pin style that could be placed directly through my (hand-stitched if possible) lapel buttonhole, and then secured on the back of my lapel invisibly.  Even though I use the pin to pierce the fabric on the back of the lapel to keep it perfectly in place, it usually finds its way between the warp and weft, and I can easily tease it out if I ever need to.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven I was amazed at the look.  Each of my your lapel\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI have always loved the idea of a lapel pin, but they are impossible.  Most brooches are too big, and most vintage hat pins are too boring.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo I started adapting my award-winning designs to wear myself.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFirst, I made my designs smaller.  I think the red-carpet looks are amazing, they just aren’t for me.  To me, a discrete but exquisite piece makes a better impression than a design that screams at you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSecond, I needed a way to attach the pins to my blazers and suits without damaging them.  I love my clothing too much, and I plan on wearing these jackets for the rest of my life.   So, I created a long pin style that could be placed directly through my (hand-stitched if possible) lapel buttonhole, and then secured on the back of my lapel invisibly.  Even though I use the pin to pierce the fabric on the back of the lapel to keep it perfectly in place, it usually finds its way between the warp and weft, and I can easily tease it out if I ever need to.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven I was amazed at the look.  Each of my
